Bella Bahhs
Bella BAHHS is a Chicago-based raptivist and revolutionary, nationally identified for making sedition irresistible through her art, activism, and advocacy for prison industrial advanced abolition. I am not advocating for anyone to comply with someone without a little self-awareness. All too usually, people assume they’re better than another person just because they have a sure talent.
Unapologetic examines the movement for Black lives in 2020 and the stress surrounding the election of Mayor Lori Lightfoot by way of a Black, queer, and femme lens. In “Unapologetic,” Chicago primarily based, first-time characteristic film director O’Shay captures a tense and polarizing moment in Chicago’s struggle for the livelihood of its Black residents. He had different twitter bussit roles in TV and films, including taking part in Langston Hughes in “Marshall,” about Thurgood Marshall, the first Black Supreme Court justice. Unapologetic, the characteristic directorial debut by Ashley O’Shay, produced in collaboration with Kartemquin Films, made its world premiere August 2020 on the BlackStar Film Festival.
American Documentary, Inc. is a multimedia firm dedicated to creating, identifying and presenting modern stories that specific opinions and perspectives rarely featured in mainstream media shops. AmDoc is a catalyst for public culture, developing collaborative strategic engagement actions round socially relevant content material on television, online and in group settings. These activities are designed to trigger motion, from dialogue and suggestions to educational alternatives and group participation. Unapologetic, the directorial debut of Ashley O’Shay, has created a buzz since its premiere at the BlackStar Film Festival last fall. The documentary focuses on two young Black female activists and organizers, Janaé Bonsu and Bella BAHHS, in the aftermath of the killing of two Black individuals by Chicago police.
In 2018, POV Shorts launched as one of many first PBS sequence dedicated to daring and timely short-form documentaries.
